Horses and Ponies at Williamwood Farm
During your stay in our self catering holiday cottages in Scotland, you will see the Kershope stud roaming around. The Kershope stud was established in the 80’s in Yarrow, on a hill farm named Kershope. Bred from Strathmore and Tower bloodlines, we ran Dougal of Gargunnock for several years, which produced versatile family ponies.
Some of our Kershope youngsters have been seen on the hunting field, pony clubbing in the show ring, or helping out on farms on the Borders.
Our 2008 move to Dumfriesshire saw many changes for our ponies (and also for us!).
Some of our foundation mares still carry the Gargunnock line, however, we now also have the Denmill and Sharian mares. As a result, we now produce distinct bay ponies.
Ponies at Williamwood Farm
Williamwood Farm’s ponies have great temperaments. Feel free to take a ride on horseback around the farm during your stay in ourself catering holiday cottages in Scotland, or simply enjoy their soothing presence as they roam around the farm.
